🧍Creating User Roles
This section highlights the ability to manage user roles within the Cloneable platform, allowing for granular control over access and permissions for different components and teams.
In the "Company Management" section, all users can be viewed and new users can be created. Clicking on "Edit" allows the roles of a specific user to be modified, similar to editing one's own profile.
Role management offers fine-grained access control to different components within the dashboard and the app. The system has default roles, but users can also create custom roles.
Custom roles allow for specific teams or groups to have access to certain workflows or data. Access can be controlled at a detailed level, such as granting access to specific objects or workflows for a particular role.
The role management feature provides the ability to fine-tune access permissions for different users or groups.
The intention behind the fine-grained security design was to accommodate larger companies with multiple internal organizations. The platform can be adopted by one company and rolled out across different departments, each with their specific access requirements.
The team-based approach allows for customization according to specific needs.
The importance of object-specific access control is highlighted. Users who can run workflows may have limited access to creating or updating objects, preventing accidental data loss.
