Why trace
- Ready for design. The traced model exports to SPIDAcalc with wires already connected pole to pole, so your engineers start designing instead of retyping attachments. See Export to SPIDAcalc.
- Mistakes show up early. Cloneable checks the trace as you go and flags crossed wires, wires traced twice, wires that stop short and labels that don’t add up, usually with a one-click fix.
- Heights come from photos. On calibrated photos, every pin gets its height as you place it, and midspan photos give each wire’s midspan height.
What you need first
- Measured pole photos. Fielders capture each pole with the Cloneable app. Calibrated measurement photos give attachment heights.
- Midspan photos for spans where you want midspan heights.
- Spans linking the poles, so Cloneable knows the order of the line.
- A configuration with a pick list, such as one built from your SPIDAcalc client file, so you pick real parts.
- Wire tracing switched on for your organization. Contact Cloneable support if you don’t see Trace wires in the map toolbar.
How it works
- Open a pole or span on the map. A span opens both of its poles and the midspans between them.
- Annotate a pole: mark its framing, insulators, wires and equipment on the photo.
- Open the next pole, so both poles’ cards are open side by side.
- Land each wire: tap the next pole’s photo where each wire attaches. On midspan photos, tap where each wire crosses.
- Move on with Next segment and repeat down the line.
