Most export problems show up on the dashboard’s Exports tab under Export issues, with what happened and what to do. This page covers the common ones.

API key

Add the key under the user menu → Secrets vault → Create secrets → Add platform secrets → Katapult. See Add your Katapult API key.
Every export fails until the key is fixed. Create a new key in Katapult, then edit KATAPULT_API_KEY in Secrets vault.
The key can’t read models. Check it in Katapult, or use the Chrome extension’s Export Full Model instead.

Importing

Create a configuration from your Katapult model first (an organization admin can do this). See Create a configuration.
The job was created but its import didn’t run. Open the job and run the import from there, or delete the job and import again.
Cloneable sent the request but didn’t hear back. Click Check again, which reads what Cloneable has without creating anything, before you import that job again.
Importing again only adds new records from Katapult. It doesn’t update objects that are already in Cloneable.

Exporting

The card says why:
  • Select a configuration to export to Katapult: choose the job’s configuration.
  • This configuration has no Katapult export trigger: the job uses a configuration that wasn’t made from a Katapult model.
  • Katapult exports whole jobs: clear your map selection to export the job.
An earlier export is still running. Wait for it, or cancel it from Export status and start again.
Ask the crew member to open the Cloneable app on a good connection and let uploads finish, then export again.
Open the span on the map and check both poles are linked. Export the poles first, then the span.
Export the parent span first, then the measurement.
Open it on the map and check it has a location. If not, have a crew member capture it again.
Open the object and look for missing required fields or invalid values, fix them and export again.
The record was deleted in Katapult. Clear the object’s Katapult ID, then use Export → Force export all on that object to create a new record.
Wait a few minutes. The export carries on by itself once the limit clears.
Check whether the data is in Katapult. If it is, mark the issue resolved. If not, export again.

Deleting in Katapult

Exports don’t delete anything unless you choose Export and delete. Export again and choose it to remove them. Deleting in Katapult can’t be undone.
The item stays listed as pending. Try the export with delete again, or remove the record in Katapult by hand.
Katapult removed the lines on that pole. In Cloneable they’re left without a pole; delete them or redraw them between existing poles, then export again.
Still stuck? Message us from the chat in Cloneable and include the job name and what the issue says.
